Leading crypto exchange Coinbase has revealed that a significant number of Americans born between 1981 and 2012 are likely to support candidates in the upcoming US election who are in favor of digital assets.
According to recent surveys conducted by Coinbase and research firm Bovitz, Inc., a large percentage of Millennials and Gen Zers in America believe that cryptocurrencies offer important societal benefits. They are not only interested in owning crypto but also studying it in school and recognizing its potential as a source of jobs.
Millennials and Gen Z adults, who currently make up about 40% of the voting-age population, are expected to be the majority by 2028. In the 2024 election, 51% of them express their likelihood to support candidates who are friendly towards crypto. Additionally, 39% of these younger generations believe that politicians and policymakers should support technologies like cryptocurrency and blockchain to benefit future generations.
The generational research conducted by Coinbase included a survey of 1,000 Americans from different generations, as well as interviews with 30 American adults aged 18-59. The findings indicate a strong interest and support for digital assets among the younger generations.
The growing support for digital assets among Millennials and Gen Zers in the US is evident. As these generations continue to gain influence in the political landscape, it is crucial for candidates and policymakers to recognize and address their interests in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
