Alternatives to Bitcoin for casino deposits: which coin fits which job

Pick a coin for what it does to your deposit: a stablecoin if you want your balance to stay in dollars, a fast low-fee chain if you deposit often, Bitcoin if the casino only takes Bitcoin. Privacy coins are accepted at fewer places and are harder to buy.

Choose by what you need

The coin decides three things about a deposit: what it costs to send, how long the casino waits before it credits you, and whether your balance moves in dollar terms while you play. Casinos usually credit a deposit after a set number of network confirmations, so a chain with short blocks usually means a shorter wait.

Coins for casino deposits compared

Speed and fee depend on the chain, value risk on the coin. A stablecoin on a cheap chain is the only option here that is both cheap to send and flat in dollars.

Stablecoins: the alternative for most players

USDT and USDC hold a dollar value, so a $200 budget stays $200 in your casino balance. Over the 30 days to 6 Oct 2026 Bitcoin moved 14.6% between its low and its high; a stablecoin balance did not move. Our stablecoin guide covers the issuer and depeg risks, and USDT casinos lists where you can use them.

XRP, Solana and TRON: fast and cheap to send

The XRP Ledger reaches consensus every 3 to 5 seconds and burns a minimum fee of 10 drops (0.00001 XRP) per transaction. Solana charges 5,000 lamports per signature. TRON produces a block every 3 seconds; sending USDT on TRON burns energy worth 6.5 TRX at the current energy price.

All three move in price like any other volatile coin, and some casinos ask for a memo or tag with the address for certain coins. If the deposit page shows one, include it, or the transfer may not be credited.

Casino lists: XRP casinos, Solana casinos, TRON casinos.

Litecoin and Dogecoin: Bitcoin-style coins with shorter blocks

Litecoin works like Bitcoin with a 2.5-minute block target and an 84 million coin cap, so deposits usually confirm sooner. Litecoin carries full price risk, like Dogecoin, which some casinos accept as well. See Litecoin casinos and Dogecoin casinos.

Privacy coins: Monero and Zcash

Monero hides sender, receiver and amount by default, using ring signatures, stealth addresses and confidential transactions. Zcash makes privacy optional: transparent addresses work like Bitcoin, shielded addresses use zero-knowledge proofs (zk-SNARKs).

The catch is access. Binance delisted Monero on 20 February 2024, and exchanges in South Korea and Australia have delisted privacy coins under regulatory pressure. Fewer places to buy and sell means wider spreads and more steps. Privacy at the payment layer also does not change the casino's own checks: a casino can still ask for ID before a withdrawal. See Monero casinos and Zcash casinos.

Switching from Bitcoin to another coin

  1. Check the casino's cashier Note which coins and which networks it accepts for deposits and for withdrawals. They are not always the same list.
  2. Buy or swap on a regulated exchange Buy the coin directly where you can, rather than converting twice. Each swap costs a spread.
  3. Withdraw to your own wallet first Some casinos and exchanges do not accept transfers between each other directly. A wallet you control also keeps your keys with you.
  4. Send a small test amount Copy the address from the deposit page, include any memo or tag, and send a small amount first on the exact network named.
  5. Plan the withdrawal coin Withdraw to a coin your exchange accepts, so you can cash out without another swap.

Terms

Confirmation
A block that includes your transaction. Casinos credit after a set number. So what: Shorter blocks usually mean a shorter wait for your balance.
Drop / lamport / satoshi
The smallest units of XRP, SOL and BTC. So what: Fees are quoted in them; your wallet converts them for you.
Memo or destination tag
An extra field some shared deposit addresses need to identify your account. So what: Leave it out and the casino may not see your deposit.
Shielded address
A Zcash address whose transactions are encrypted with zero-knowledge proofs. So what: Only private if both sides use shielded addresses.

Alternative coins FAQ

Which crypto is best for casino deposits?

For most players a stablecoin (USDT or USDC) on a low-fee network, because the balance stays in dollars. If you hold another coin already, use one the casino accepts on a cheap, fast chain and avoid extra swaps.

Is XRP faster than Bitcoin for deposits?

On the chain, yes: the XRP Ledger settles in 3 to 5 seconds against Bitcoin's 10-minute average block. How fast the casino credits you also depends on how many confirmations it waits for.
