Crypto casinos in Brazil: online casinos banned since September 2026
On 25 September 2026 Brazil published Provisional Measure 1,394, which prohibits the operation, offer, intermediation and advertising of fixed-odds betting, including online casino games. It took effect the same day.
Crypto was never a legal route: even under the 2025 licence regime, licensed operators could not accept crypto deposits.

Is crypto gambling legal in Brazil?
Short answer
No: online casinos are banned
Provisional Measure 1,394 bans fixed-odds betting and online casino games in Brazil from 25 September 2026. Licensed .bet.br sites had to go offline by 6 October, and all federal licences are cancelled 30 days after publication. Within days the government blocked 506 unauthorised betting sites.

What is MP 1394?
A provisional measure signed on 25 September 2026 that prohibits the operation, offer, intermediation and advertising of fixed-odds betting, including online casino games. It took effect at once and needs Congress to approve it within 120 days.
What happens to money left on a betting account?
Under the transition rules, customers had until 5 October 2026 to withdraw, and remaining balances are to be returned through the operators' banking partners between 9 and 14 October 2026.
Could licensed Brazilian sites ever take crypto?
No. SPA Ordinance 615 of April 2024 banned crypto, cash and credit cards; deposits had to come by Pix, TED, debit or prepaid card from the player's own account.
Could the ban be reversed?
If Congress does not approve MP 1,394 within 120 days, it lapses. Until then the ban applies.
