Win chance falls as fast as the target rises
What it means: pick the target for the swings you can sit through, not for the payout on the button.
In limbo you set a target multiplier, then the game draws a result multiplier. If the result reaches your target you win your stake times the target; if not, you lose it.
The maths is one line: at a 1% edge your win chance is 99 ÷ target percent. Below are the odds for common targets, a calculator and a provably fair example.
Short answer
At a 1% edge, a 2x target wins 49.5% of the time and a 100x target wins 0.99% of the time. Every target returns 99% on average; higher targets only make wins rarer and bigger.
Close to a coin toss, with the edge taken off.
About one win in ten bets on average.
About one win in a hundred bets on average.
Limbo and dice share the same maths; limbo just lets you set the payout instead of the win chance.
Your win chance in percent at a 1% edge.
Average cost per $100 wagered at a 1% edge, on every target.
At a 100x target, about one player in three goes 100 bets without a win.
The lowest result the game can draw, which loses every target above it.
Rules
Fast autobet makes limbo one of the quickest games to lose a budget on. Set a stop-loss first.
House edge and RTP
At a 1% edge the RTP is 99% for every target. The table shows how often each one wins.
Doubling the target halves the win chance; the cost per bet stays the same.
| Target | Win chance | RTP | Cost per $100 bet | No win in 100 bets | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1.50x | 66.00% | 99.00% | $1.00 | <0.01% | wins two bets in three on average. |
| 2.00x | 49.50% | 99.00% | $1.00 | <0.01% | close to a coin toss. |
| 5.00x | 19.80% | 99.00% | $1.00 | <0.01% | losing runs of ten are normal. |
| 10.00x | 9.90% | 99.00% | $1.00 | <0.01% | one win in ten on average. |
| 100.00x | 0.990% | 99.00% | $1.00 | 37.0% | many 100-bet sessions end without a win. |
Computed at a 1.00% house edge, a common setting; each casino states its own edge in the game rules.
Calculator
Multiplier = (100 − edge) ÷ win chance
(100 − 1) ÷ 49.50 = 2.00x
Expected loss = bets × stake × edge
100 × $1.00 × 1% = $1.00
No win in 100 bets = (1 − p)^100: 0.0%
A high target does not cost more per bet. It turns the same average loss into long losing runs broken by rare large wins.
Provably fair Example data
A common scheme used by seed-based limbo. Each casino documents its own variant on its fairness page.
The casino fixed the server seed before you chose your client seed, so it could not pick results after seeing your bets.
That the casino will pay a withdrawal, that the edge is low, or that third-party slots are fair.

Patterns and exceptions
What it means: pick the target for the swings you can sit through, not for the payout on the button.
Win chance = (100 − edge) ÷ target, at a 1% edge. Computed, not measured.
Method
What we read before a casino appears in the list above.
We read the house edge or RTP the casino states for its limbo game and whether the payout table is published.
We check that the casino documents its provably fair scheme and lets you set your own client seed and rotate the server seed.
We note the licence the casino states and read the bonus terms for game weighting and maximum bets.
We list the coins the casino accepts and the identity checks it states for withdrawals.
We check for deposit limits, loss limits and self-exclusion you can set yourself.
Crypto originals are built in-house, so each casino chooses its own edge and payout table. We read them from the game's info panel instead of marketing copy.
We may earn a commission when you sign up through our links. It does not change the maths on this page.
Glossary
Divide 100 minus the edge by your target. At a 1% edge, a 4x target wins 99 ÷ 4 = 24.75% of the time.
Each casino sets it and shows it in the game info. 1% is a common setting.
The maths is close: both pay your target if the drawn multiplier reaches it. In limbo you set the target before the round and the result appears at once; crash games run a rising multiplier and you cash out by hand.
It proves the casino did not change a result after you bet. It does not lower the house edge, and it says nothing about whether the casino pays withdrawals. See our provably fair casinos for how casinos document it.
Any coin the casino accepts plays the same game. A stablecoin such as USDT keeps your balance steady in dollars while you play; a volatile coin adds its own price swing on top of the game's. Network fees differ by chain, see USDT casinos and stablecoins.
It depends on where you live. Many crypto casinos hold an offshore licence and are not licensed in your country. Check local law before you play, and remember crypto deposits cannot be reversed.
